Request for Urgent National Council Meeting

As a proud Knanayite and an elected member of the BASILDON & Southend unit, I am making a formal request that an emergency meeting be scheduled and convened within 20 days with all the national council members to discuss the recent developments within UKKCA.

Since the term of the present committee is coming to  an end ( By end of December 2011), you are obliged to submit all the financial details to the national council and get it approved before handing over to the next committee, so that things will become transparent and clear to everyone.

Unfortunately, such a financial report has never been published until today. Having spoken to many other unit representatives, it has come to know that they also have such concerns as they are responsible to answer these questions to members of the unit.

Regarding the formation of the new unit in Wigan, I am getting different information from various sources such as individuals or media, but I think these informations are misleading.

Also I came to know that you are planning to send the new directory by Royal Mail, but if you carefully examine, you could save this unnecessary expense (1300 * £2.4 = £3,120) if you could distribute the directories through our members when we meet up for the national council.

Having considered all the above facts, I urge you to bring all the national council members on board, to discuss all the issues fuming in our community. I hope that you will consider this as a matter of urgency.

(We understand the above letter, calling for an Urgent Meeting of National Council, was sent to the President of UKKCA.  Since the way UKKCA functions is far from transparent, we thought this will give the members of Knanaya Community in UK some insights about the way it works (or rather, the way it does not work!).  CLICK HERE to read the full text of the letter – Administrator, British Kna Group Blog)

  1. I am a proud Kna coming from Malabar region. I would like to get answers from this National Council member for some questions I have.

I believe you received a letter from UKKCA Secretary giving the Agenda of the last meeting. I am sure you read it before attending the meeting. If you were a responsible member of the National Council, you should have raised all the questions In the last meeting instead of writing letters now. You have cheated all those who signed the petition prepared by you.

You are talking about the accounts of UKKCA. Fine. But as the member of Knanaya Community, will you dare to ask for the account of our Arch Diocese’s accounts of our year-long centenary celebrations? And are you aware of the problems that are happening in Karimkunnam Parish?

I think the present UKKCA Executive Committee did a fine job. The next Committee may not be able to do any better.

  2. All the responsible members who attend any meeting willget the agenda of the meeting in advance and should be read it before attending the meeting. If Benny Kolliyil did not do the same how can he claim to be a responsible and a proud Knanite. An elected representative should know the basic principles of a meeting and should not leave the meeting place without clearing all the doubts or clarifications. Writing letters later shows that either he did not follow English or proceedings of the meetings.

Informations from the online newpapers may not be always accurate. As a responsible elected member he should have contacted the Executive members who will clarify all his doubts. Irresponsible elected national council members are the real problems of the UKKCA

If Benny is responsible and have the courage can he ask the accounts of the Jubilee celebrations of the diocese of Kottayam? or atleast can he send a letter to Kottayam with signatories.
