ക്നാനായ സമുദായത്തിന്റെ തനിമ, അമേരിക്കയില്‍ മാര്‍ അങ്ങാടിയത്തിന് മുന്നില്‍ അടിയറവുവച്ച മാര്‍ മൂലക്കാടിനെതിരെ വന്‍പ്രതിഷേധം
ക്നാനായ കത്തോലിക്ക കോണ്ഗ്രസ് വര്‍ക്കിഗ് കമ്മറ്റിയുടേയും മുന്‍ വര്‍ക്കിഗ് കമ്മറ്റി അംഗങ്ങളുടേയും സംയുക്തയോഗം കേന്ദ്ര കമ്മിറ്റി ഓഫീസില്‍ വച്ച് 10-3-2012 ഞയറാഴ്ച്ച വൈകുന്നേരം നാലുമണിക്ക് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ജോയി മുപ്രാപള്ളിയുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നു. അന്നേ ദിവസം മൂന്നു മണിക്ക് മൂലക്കാട്ട് പിതാവുമായുള്ള ചര്‍ച്ച നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും, രാവിലെ ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരിയില്‍ ഒരു യോഗം കഴിഞ്ഞെത്തിയ പിതാവിന് പനി ബാധിച്ചതിനാല്‍ കാരിത്താസില്‍ അഡ്മിറ്റാകുകയായിരുന്നു. മൂന്ന് മണിയിലെ ചര്‍ച്ച നടക്കാതെ വന്നെങ്കിലും മുന്‍ നിശ്ചയപ്രകാരം വര്‍ക്കിഗ് കമ്മിറ്റി യോഗം ചേര്‍ന്നു. നൂറിലധികം ആളുകള്‍ അതില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. അതിരൂപത ചാപ്‌ളിന്‍ മോണ്‍: മാത്യു ഇളപാനിക്കലിന്റെ സാനിധ്യത്തില്‍ നടന്ന യോഗത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്ത എല്ലാവരും സംസാരിക്കുകയും പിതാവിന്റെ ചിക്കാഗോ പ്രസംഗത്തിലെ വൈരുദ്ധ്യത ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
പിതാവിന്റെ ഏകപക്ഷീയമായ സമുദായവിരുദ്ധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിനെതിരേയും, അതിരൂപത ഒരു സ്വയാധികാര സഭയാകുന്നതിനുള്ള പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കണമെന്ന പ്രമേയവും, ക്നാനായ കത്തോലിക്കാ കോണ്ഗ്രസ് യൂണിറ്റ്തല ഭാരവാഹികളും പാരിഷ്‌കൗണ്‍സില്‍ അംഗങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ട വിപുലമായ ഒരു യോഗം വിളിച്ചു പിതാവുമായി ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്തണമെന്നും ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടുള്ള മൂന്നു പ്രമേയങ്ങള്‍ ഏകകണ്ഠമായി പാസാക്കി.
വര്‍ക്കിഗ് കമ്മിറ്റിക്കു മുന്‍പ് മാര്‍ ജോസഫ് പണ്ടാരശ്ശേരിയും മോണ്‍: മാത്യു ഇളപ്പാനിക്കലുമായി ക്നാനായ കത്തോലിക്ക കോണ്ഗ്രസ് നേതാക്കള്‍ നടത്തിയ അനൗദ്യോഗിക യോഗത്തില്‍ കൊച്ചു പിതാവും മോണ്‍സിഞ്ഞോറും പരസ്പ്പര വിരുദ്ധമായിട്ടാണ് സംസാരിച്ചത്. ക്‌നാനായത്വത്തില്‍ അയവു വരുത്തുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനമായെന്ന് കൊച്ചു പിതാവും, തീരുമാനമായില്ല ആലോചന മാത്രമേഉള്ളു കൂടുതലൊന്നും അറിയില്ല എന്ന മോണ്‍സിഞ്ഞോറും പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. പരസ്പര വിരുദ്ധമായ ഈ പ്രസ്താവനകള്‍ എല്ലാവരിലും ചിരിപരത്തി.
“ബഹു: മോണ്‍സിഞ്ഞോര്‍ പോലും അറിയാതെ മൂലക്കാട്ട് പിതാവ് നടത്തിയ പ്രഖ്യാപനങ്ങള്‍ വളരെ കഷ്ട്ടമായി പോയില്ലേ!” എന്ന അരുടെയോ കമന്റ് അവസരോചിതമായി. കോട്ടയം അരമനയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ഏകാധിപത്യഭരണത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ചിത്രം ഏതാണ്ട് വ്യക്തമാകുകയും ചെയ്തു.

There are so many Knasnaya Catholics wanted to move out of Catholics to preserve their heritage, because of our bishops decision to dilute Knanayam.

There for our bishop's have the right to appeal to the Holy father to re-establish the re-script. The bishop has to ask the right of the Knanyaits of the world.

Tradition and heritage can be preserved without endogomy. Even Jews don't follow endogomy, any non-jew who accept their religious beliefs and traditions will be able become a Jew by faith and marriage.So dont say we are following the jewish tradition of endogomy.In Bible, in the old testamant their are so many jews who married from other tribes and their partner becomes a jew by faith and practicing jewish tradition. In these circumstances our practice of endogomy was aided. In USA their is equal rights in church and community,So one who doesnt keep endogomy(himself and his family) cannot be expelled.So endogomy for Knas is relieved in USA, so it should be relieved from India and elsewhere in the world.
ReplyDeleteI can see sense in what you are saying. But, here the point is not if endogamy is good or bad.
DeleteThis is a matter that affects a community; in fact two communities (Jacobites and Catholics). It is a community issue and should be decided taking the feelings of the people into account. Knanites have not sold their community to some clowns in cassocks. They are there to serve our spiritual needs. Yes, to serve us. They are not our masters.
And what are they doing? They take decisions and most of the people obey without a murmur of protests. I am sure, if tomorrow they make a new canon law that if a husband wants to sleep with his wife, he should every day get a letter from his parish priest, many of our women might refuse to sleep in the same bed unless and until her husband produces the required letter. Imagine the queue in the church! that is how insane many of us are.
They should not be allowed to exploit the docility of majority of the sheep. They can abolish endogamy. In Kerala there are numerous communities and they all exist and flourish without any expulsion for selecting one's life-partner. Sure, Knanaya Community too can survive without endogamy. But the question is who should decide that? Who is Mar Moolakkadan to decide our fate? Let him be a bishop or an archbishop. Not our boss.
If Moolakkattu Bishops decision is not acceptable, why their be an opinion poll among all the adult members of the community regards to

Who want to divide their territory into two and loose half of the power and rights. I think the kottayam aramana is the most opposer for adiocese in malabar, because they do not want to give up their power to a new bishop. Same thing with US issues too. As long as we do not have a Knanaya Bishop in USA, Kottayam will have some virtual power and privileges in US Knanaya Community even though mar j angadiathu is the official bihop now. They do not want to give this to a Third person. So those who think kottayam will help will be the biggest fool of this decade.

several people opined that they come to kna church for social reasons rather than spiritual reasons. my nearby church has better mass(no ganamela), better homily,more pious atmosphere, why am i driving so far? to pray better? are you kidding me? MY POINT IS, what is more important? Catholicism or Knaism? if Catholicism is a threat to Knaism, lets move to another denomination,, there are many faith out there who would accept us as we are and wont object or challenge us to follow our traditions, or do total non cooperation everywhere, bishops or priests cant survive that, at least do that one time just to show a protest, set up a date just for once for all the knas, just dream moolakkattu or mutholam run the mass without any parish member!! If the bishop think people have to follow whatever he says,This is not feudalism or monarchy.Lets borrow the words of Karl Marx 'Sarvaloka Knanayakkare sankhadikkuvin, shaktharakuvin". lets be radical knas, or its going to split again.. ReplyDeleteഅങ്ങ് റോം ലേക്ക് തിരികെ പോയി വല്ലംബ്രോഷ്യന്‍ സഭയില്‍ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞാടായി ജീവിക്കുക. സന്യാസിമാര്‍ മെത്രാന്‍ പട്ടം കെട്ടിയാല്‍ ശരിയാകില്ല. തട്ടുങ്കല്‍ തിരുമേനി റോം ലെ ഏതോ സൂപ്പര്‍ മാര്‍ക്കറ്റ്‌ ലെ ജോലിക്ക് കയറി. അതുപോലെ ആകാതെ വേഗം സ്വന്തം സഭയില്‍ തിരിച്ചു പോകുക. അങ്ങേക്കും ക്നനായക്കാര്‍ക്കും അതായിരിക്കും നല്ലത്.
As per the Knanaya tradition, the right to be a 'Knanite' through endogamous birth is for ever. But, after his marriage, the right to be a 'member' of the Community continues only if he follows endogamy.

It is against the traditional law of Knanaya that - “to be a member of the Community, the Knanite should not be married to a non-Knanite”?!
But as per the 'formula' put forth by the new clarification, the right to membership of the endogamous parents is attributed to the exogamous sons, which SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE!
This is like the question in the Malayalam saying, “Appan aanakkaranayal makanum thazhambu undavumo?!”

ReplyDeleteകത്തോലിക്കാ സഭ കേരളത്തില്‍ നമുക്ക്‌ അനുവദിച്ച സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും അവകാശവും അമേരിക്കയില്‍ നല്‍കാന്‍ തയ്യാറല്ല. സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭയുടെ കീഴില്‍ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക വിഭാഗമായി തുടരുന്നതിന് എതിരുമല്ല.കനാനായക്കാരല്ലാത്ത ജീവിത പങ്കാളിയെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്ത ക്നാനായക്കാരല്ലേ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ ഈ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ക്കെല്ലാം പിന്നില്‍ ?
അവരെ ക്നാനായ മിഷനില്‍ തുടരാന്‍ അനുവദിക്കണം എന്ന് റോം ഉത്തരവിട്ടാല്‍ ചെയ്യാവുന്ന പോംവഴികള്‍ അല്ലേ എന്ടോഗമിയെക്കുരിച്ച് വാതോരാതെ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന സുബുദ്ധികള്‍ ചിന്തിക്കേണ്ടത്? അതിനു പകരം മേത്രാനെയും അച്ഛന്മാരെയും തെറി വിളിക്കുന്നതില്‍ അര്‍ത്ഥമുണ്ടോ?

DeleteI am not knanaya since I got married in different denomination. It is OK with me. I can't agree with Mulakkadan's decision.Who ever got out knanaya community since they are married to non-knanaya, let them stay where they are. Mulakkadan has no right to bring them back to Knanaya community just because they offered him money when HE begged for a number plate for his new car. I heard HE spend Rs.300,000 for the number plate. Poor people's hard earned money.Shame on Mulakkadan.How many kids in our community need money for education.How many people need money for cancer treatment. He should have used this money for these purposes.I think he is loosing his mind. How can he treat Chicago ex. knanayetes differently than others. I bet within few years, everyone is coming back to knanaya community. But I will stay where I am. Knanayites should be proud of their community and they should keep up their ORUMA nd THANIMA. Good luck. I am not with this commmunity now I am a STRONG SUPPORTER of the great KNA.
