UKKCA was formed in 2001 with just two units: London and Manchester. During the past 10 years, the number of units grew from two to more than 40. It was a smooth and natural growth; there were no problems.
But now, when Knanaya people living in the outskirts of Manchester decided to form a new Unit, it seems sky is falling down. There is a constitutional crisis. No one seems to know the rule (even if someone knows, they don’t open their mouth). The crisis is almost a month old. The executives and the spiritual director remained silent for a long while; finally they said a decision will be taken during the forthcoming National Council Meeting on 15th October. The NC met as scheduled, but could not take any decision!
A Commission has been appointed. Now you need to further wait and see what could be their findings. They may or may not talk to various people and will, hopefully, prepare a report. Then the Executive Committee will have to consider the report. There would be further delay. At long last, one of them will say, “Our term is coming to end. The matter will be decided by the next Central Committee!”
The present Governing Body of UKKCA should be given a Special Award for INACTION.
My dear friends, have you ever heard the saying, “Justice delayed is Justice Denied?”
