Dear Contributors:
As its Administrator, I have great pleasure in welcoming you all as Authorised Contributors of British Kna Group Blog. You are now at liberty to log onto this and to share your views and thoughts with the visitors of this blog.
A couple of tips.
Whenever possible, try to give a short description of what your post is about in the space provided against Title in the post composing window. This will make the archive section look neat and tidy. Posting matter in English is no problem, but Malayalam should be in Unicode Font. Don't worry too much about the technical aspects. I am sure you all will learn it like a duck taking to water.
No matter what people might think of this Blog, its intention is not to damage our community or to make the lives of UKKCA Office Bearers impossible. On the contrary, the objective is (and should be) to give our leaders guidance and sense of direction. We should not be stingy in appreciating whenever a good work is done.
Once the elections are over the office bearers tend to feel they are not any more accountable to the people who voted them to power. Forums such as this should remind them that the community members are watching their every step and actions (inactions too) and also make them aware that they have been entrusted with certain responsibilities. With occasional Opinion Polls we can show them if the members are happy or frustrated, with their performance.
We, however, should not forget the fact that they are ordinary people like you and I with their professional, career and family responsibilities. Moreover, they are not paid for what they do for the Community and the Association. Many of us might not even consider spending our valuable time for such community services. Please keep this in mind while criticising. We should not be rude and merciless in pointing out mistakes (who does not make mistakes?), thus preventing capable people from coming forth to shoulder these kind of responsibilities. We need intelligent and capable people to make UKKCA a meaningful organization.
I would also like to remind you that when you voice your opinion in public, you are offering yourself as a easy target for our fellow community members to fall on you with differing notes. Such attacks could at times get merciless, nasty and vicious. See it as a part of the game and prepare yourself for it. Every social reformer has received such ungrateful brick-bats. Be gentle, polite and soft in your reactions. If there are comments that are personal attacks or too rude, report the matter to me. There should be a way to remove such comments. As of now, any one can post comments and it will be posted without any prior screening or approval. This might change in future. It is not clear if, as a Contributor, you have the facility to remove a comment received on your post. Even if that facility is there, use it sparingly, only in very exceptional cases. Critics themselves should be tolerant towards criticism!
Please tell your friends about this Group Blog and encourage people who have some views and thoughts to join this group as Contributors like you. People’s Voice is God’s Voice. The more people there are, more divine the voice becomes.
Shall sign off with this quotation of Nietzsche.
Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.
I look forward to meaningful posts from you. Happy Blogging!
With best wishes and warm regards,
Administrator,
